Well, alot of people try and make pures. 70% fail miserably.
As someone who has made several pures with 70+ and 80+ stats, i decided i would share some tips with you all, so that you too, can one day own the wilderness.
Before i start i will say this. Do NOT Get 10 Defence. It gives NO advantages and gives your opponents 10 str levels on you.

III. Pure Quests

V. Pking locations
Part I - Naming your pure
When naming your pure you have to take some things into consideration.
Things such as whether you wish to be a good staker, what type of pure you wish to be, and most importantly, whether you would like being called by that name.
Alot of people like names with I's at the start and end. An example would be I Mahatma I. Some people use other letters such as X (X Fall3n X) And V (V Rang3r V). There are also lots of less used variations such as Il and Ilx.
Other names include multiple spaces, such as i 6. These names are useful because it makes you hard to look up. Especially good for stakers.
A name such as 1 2 3 would be hard to lookup ingame, meaning people would not be able to find out your stats.
Some people pick names such as blosombug522. These names are effective at making opponents not suspect you to be a pure and hence more willing to fight you.
I2/12/3/Q are a form of substituting letters to get a name not otherwise available. Ingame I2 and 12 would look like an R. 3 Would substitute an E, and q looks like g. Yesterday i was trying to get some good names and using this tactic secured the following otherwise unavailable accounts:
A h I2 1 m
D h a I2 0 k
K a I2 1 l
T o I2 a g
T 0 12 a g
T 0 I2 a g
I2anqer
12anqer
These names are good because they look nice and not many people have similar ones. I especially like the Ranger ones.
That covers most of the names.
II - Pure types.
There are several forms of pure pkers. I will list the most common ones here.
F2P Pkers
Stats:
40 Attack
75+ Strength
1 Defense
1 or 31 Prayer
59+ Magic
40+ Range
Attributes: F2p pkers are trained in members or free. Their 40 attack makes them able to wield a rune scimitar and have very high strength for their level. 59 Magic is for blasting away at people in armour, and 40+ range is for Dragonhide chaps and Vambraces (Good defence vs Magic) and people in armour or binding and moving back. 31 Pray gives them a 15% Strength bonus but runs out very quickly, so that by the halfway point of the fight they have been put back to their normal potted strength level. 1 Prayer would allow them 9 extra strength levels that would make them get better with potions, and last for the whole fight.
Range Pure
Stats:
70+ Ranged
1 Defence
1 Prayer
Attributes: Range pures can hit armour and pures relatively well and rapidly. They are excellent for pking in both Multicombat wilderness and single. P2p and f2p. I recommend using them once you can hit 13s - 14s in f2p. You can hit 13s in f2p at 70 Ranged, 14s at 83, 15s at 90, 16s at 99.
Their max in p2p is 24 (Accurate) and 23 (Rapid). Use rapid at all times when pking, as accurate is alot slower.
Range/F2p melee
Stats:
70+ Range
65+ Str
40 Attack
1 Defence
1 Prayer
Attributes: All of the Range pure attributes and a greater ability to KO opponents in f2p. When your opponent is on low hp you simply pull out a melee weapon and attack them. You will hit them instantly and usually ko.
Common weapons for this tactic are Rune 2h's and Battleaxes, a scimitar if you have high strength as if you dont ko them the next swing is fast enough to do it instead. You can also get 50 attack to ko with 3 instant granite maul hits in p2p (Special Attack).
Mage:
Stats:
85+ Magic
1 or 20 Defence
1 Prayer
Attributes: Mages are useless in F2p except at under 35 combat. Even in p2p a ranger can demolish them. I dont recommend being a mage, but being a mage with another form of combat is highly effective.
P2p Melee
Stats:
60 or 70+ Attack
85+ Str
82+ Mage (Recommended)
70+ Range
1 Defence
1, 31, or 52 Prayer.
Attributes: P2p melee pures aren’t very good at lower levels. But after 60 Attack and 85ish Str, you will more often than not kill someone with your 4 (Overpowered) Dagger specials. 70 Range helps for black hides (Mage defense) and 82+ Mage is for Ice blitz. For those that don’t know, single opponent ancient spells have a delay when they hit. So casting them and then hitting an opponent with your dagger freezes them so they cant run, and starts you off with 3 instant hits. Considering they can eat 1 Shark per special you will probably ko them with the next 3 specials. I recommend 31 or 34 prayer to guarantee high hits off your specials.
If you choose 70 attack on your pure be warned you will get more form pking with your whip. It is advisable to also get 52 prayer if you are a whipper so that your protect item doesn’t run out too fast. Using a whip is for high leveled pures. I recommend atleast 90 Str before 70 attack.
20 Defence Pure/Mystic Pure
Stats:
70 Attack
90+ Str
20 Defense
82+ Magic
52 Prayer
Attributes: Higher combat and therefore better pks, 20 Defense is for Initiate and Mystic equipment, good prayer and magic bonuses for an accurate Blitz. Mystic pures can also get Mith Defenders and Addy Gloves from Recipe for Disaster)
Part III – Quests
Quests to complete as a pure are as follows
F2p:
Vampire slayer (Decent xp reward, far easier than training a newb pure)
P2p:
Waterfall (No combat and will take you from 1 – 30 attack and strength, very good for new pures)
Gnome Tree (Free 10k Attack xp, just mage the npcs from where he cant get to you.)
Gnome Stronghold (Another 10k attack xp, hide behind the rocks and mage the demon where he cannot touch you)
Fight arena (10k Attack xp and some thieving xp, mage the npcs from behind the skeleton at the western end of the pit, Khazard armour is good for pures as it gives no negatives so you can range/mage out of it.)
Horror from the Deep (God books, get Zamorak or Guthix, +8 to all attacks and +4 to attacks and defenses, Zamorak if you can afford to pay 1M, Guthix if not)
Death Plateau (Climbing boots = +2 Str bonus)
Monkey Madness (Dragon Scim > Dragon long)
Lost City (Dragon Dagger and Longsword)
Desert Treasure (Ghostly robes, good looking and good magic bonus, aswell as access to Ancient Magics which completely OWN when pking as a Ranger, Mage, or Melee.)
Recipe for Disaster (The gloves offer good Magic, Attack, Defense and Strength bonuses. Pures with one defense can save The Dwarf, Goblins, Pirate, Ogre and Evil dave in order to get Mithril Gloves. 20 Defense pures can also save the Lumbridge guide to get Adamant gloves.
Note that some of these quests require other quests to do them, I have not included these required quests as they can be found via the ingame menu and any good guide.
Part IV – Pure Training locations.
Rock Crabs – Level 13s with 52 Hp make for good xp. They are aggressive little buggers so their good for afk’ing. I recommend using the ones on Waterbirth island, the spawn of 3.
Experiments – Do about 5 steps of the Creature of Fenkenstein quest to gain access to these. They wont hit you much and are level 25s with 101 Hp. Plenty of noobs come along and take your spot however which is annoying.
Pest Control – Very good, Afk’ing these in world 78 is highly effective, cash your points in every 100 and unless you want low hp, I advise occasionally using points on hp.
Goblins – At Goblin village, if your pure is f2p after getting some stats at the dummies in varrock these are a relatively good spot.
Monks – Great for newb pures but crowded in f2p, they heal you and are near a cabbage spawn.
Stronghold of Security – Not too crowded, plenty of spots, good for training f2p and p2p.
Part V – Pking locations
Varrock – Multicombat and crowded, very good to pk in.
Hillz – Level 9 – 12 wild north of varrock, multi and another good pking spot.
Giants – Level 16 – 20 wild Very, very good to pk at if you have a good team, DD’ing here is very effective.
Edgeville – This is where you show your skill as a pker. You cannot rely on a big team here, and you will get far more fair fights. My favourite pk spot
Castle (F2P)/Greens (P2P) – Located in 11 wild (Greens) and 12 – 17 wild (Castle) these are very popular pk spots. Recently numbers at Greens in p2p have been declining but in f2p castle is still a thriving pking spot.
Pk worlds
F2p pk worlds are 1, 3, 4, 5 and 20.
P2p pk worlds are 2, 6, 18 and 66. Worlds 2 6 and 66 are mostly for Edgeville and 18 is good for Varrock Pking.
This concludes my guide, I hope it helped you :] _________________ ~hermit~
